Boiler problems? Gas cooker problems? Thinking about saving yourself money and doing the work yourself?
Have you ever thought about trying to fix your boiler rather than get an engineer out to have a look for you? Engineers can be expensive and dependant on what time of year it is, it can be hard to get an immediate appointment. Especially if you have a combi boiler this could mean you are left with no heating or hot water at a cold time of year.
Also, have you had new gas cooker delivered and just thought that you could connect it yourself rather than pay to get this done by and expert?
It can be tempting to have a look these things yourself and try to fix the problems. Never attempt to work on gas appliances yourself. And don't let anyone else who isn't qualified and Gas Safe registered do it either. It won't save you money but it could cost you your life. Gas appliances left in a dangerous state can cause leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning.
1 in 3 people say they would fit a gas appliance themselves to save money. What you have to ask your self is it worth it? Always use a gas safe registered engineer.
